過去不曾光照現在，現在亦不曾啟明過去，而是已逝的過去(das Gewesene)與當下的現在(das Jetzt)彼此環環相扣(constellation)，就像一道光芒的印象般。換言之，這印象是在靜止中得以辯證。因為，當現在與過去成為一種純粹時間上的連續關係時，已逝的過去與當下的現在則為辯證的關係－－那不是演進的，而是跳躍的(sprunghaft)印象。只有辯證的印象，而非擬古的印象，才是真正的印象；他們在語言中發生、覺醒。
