NOTE: I use the term "Linux" instead of "GNU/Linux", because I'm talking about the kernel here, not the entire distribution. :P

2) It's portable. Linux supports nearly all the platforms, including PowerPC.

3) It's open source. That means the source code is available for you to modify, distribute, and improve.

4) It's reliable. Did you know that a Linux server can stay up continuously for more than 1 year without rebooting?

5) It's fast. Try download a file from Internet using Linux. You'll be surprised about how slow Windows is.

6) It's bug-free. Since it is open source, thousands and thousands of developers around the world are improving Linux, everyday. That is why you can hardly find any bugs in Linux (stable version).

7) It's an alternative to Microsoft. Anti-Microsoft people should be glad that no M$ software runs on Linux.

8) It's economically beneficial. Did you know that you can make money with Linux, by selling support to other users?

9) It's extremely flexible. If you don't like a component/configuration in your Linux system, you can replace/alter them with ease.
